A premier event, the 15th edition of the "Communicating the Museum" (CTM) conference started in Istanbul on Wednesday with a dynamic program gathering many museum professionals and senior directors from Europe, the U.S. and Australia until Sept. 12. The conference is taking place under the auspices of the Culture and Tourism Ministry and is sponsored by the Central Directorate of Circulating Capital (DÖSİMM), Hisart, İş Bank, the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB) and BKG.For the last 15 years, CTM conferences have been held in significant cities around the world and gathered over 3,500 museum professionals from art institutions in 40 cities. Prominent culture and art experts come together to create an international platform as well as forming a network while sharing each other's experiences. The conference is held with a different theme in each city. This year, it will focus on the theme "contemporary." Almost 300 international participants from museums and art institutions are in Istanbul for an exciting three-day program. As part of the conference, 36 workshops will be organized. Participants are offered special field visits and workshops at the city's highlighted museums and culture centers including Hisart, a history and diorama museum. The conference promises an exciting learning experience.
