Food Art Fest brings Hollywood's most acclaimed chef

With its tempting motto "Bu Sanatı Yerim" (I eat this art), the Food Art Fest is inviting taste hunters to Istanbul's 30 best restaurants until May 17. Blending the city's historical pattern with its rich gastronomy, the festival offers artistic menus by creative chefs with special discounts. Commonly referred to as the chef of Hollywood celebrities, Tom Wolfe is preparing three avant-garde menus featuring a three-course meal at Istanbul's highlighted restaurants. The festival menus introduce creatively designed seafood, salads, olive oil dishes, Chinese food and chicken dishes. Aside from the acclaimed chef's painting-like meals, the ongoing event that kicked off on May 8 offers food workshops, musical performances, free gifts, surprise birthday celebrations and discounts. Festival visitors may also participate in an Instagram competition.New Orleans-based Wolfe mostly designs surrealist and avant-garde meals and is largely influenced by Salvador Dali, French painter Yves Klein, Russian painter Vasiliy Kandinsky and Polish-Russian painter Kazimir Malevich. The Food Art Festival is organized alongside initiatives by the Association of Tourism Restaurant Investors and Operators (TURYİD) whose mission is to offer solutions to current problems in entertainment and the food and beverage industry and make contributions to this field since 2003. All festival restaurants are TURYİD members.
