One of the leading auction houses in contemporary and modern Turkish art, Beyaz Auction House will hold the second session of "the 4th Beyaz Special Collections Auction" at Zorlu Performing Arts Center on Monday. The auction will introduce classical European and Ottoman paintings from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries in addition to antique pieces, furniture and Islamic pieces.
Paintings featured at the auction belong to distinguished painters of the Ottoman and Republican eras like Halil Paşa, Nazmi Ziya, Namık İsmail, Hikmet Onat, Osman Asaf, Hüseyin Rıfat Çeteci, Avni Lifij, Sami Yetik, Feyhaman Duran, Lepold Levy, Üsküdarlı Cevat, Şefik Bursalı, Şeref Akdik, Cemal Tollu, Ayetullah Sümer and Edip Hakkı Köseoğlu. Selected Works by prominent orientalist artists including Leonardo De Mango, Fausto Zonaro and Fabius Brest will be also put up for sale.
Interested collectors will find calligraphies, Qurans, firmans, İzmir, Kütahya and Çanakkale tiles and ceramics, Chinese and Japanese porcelains, glass objects, vases, Ottoman textiles, antique furniture, chandeliers, silver objects stamped with the Ottoman tughra, European watches exclusively manufactured for the Ottoman market, silverware, statues, sculptures, bibelots and lampshades.
Comprised from four different collections, the first section of the auction took place yesterday. Hundreds of artworks are expected to be sold by the end of the auctions.
