Life through Syrian children's eyes on display

Photographs taken by Syrian refugee children taking shelter in Gaziantep and Şanlıurfa are on display at the exhibition hall of the local library in Gaziantep. Speaking prior to the opening ceremony, Muzaffer Baca, the Deputy President of the International Blue Crescent Foundation, said the institution has dedicated itself to Turkish, Syrian, Pakistani, Indonesian, Somali, Afghan and Iraqi children. Cemalettin Özdemir, the Deputy Governor of Gaziantep, underlined the need to protect children, and added that the more they are removed from war, the better their lives can be. "We can do a good deed if we understand that they must never lose hope. We can then also help them to avoid the trauma of war," he continued. A short film screening took place at the opening ceremony. The exhibition is supported by the International Blue Crescent Foundation and the U.N.'s High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
