Nafea Faa Ipoipo, or When Will You Marry?, the painting by the French artist Paul Gauguin of two Tahitian girls has been sold for $300 million, breaking the records as the world's most expensive artwork ever sold. The artwork, painted in 1892 by Gauguin and owned by Swiss collector Rudolf Staechelin, has been reportedly purchased by a museum in the oil rich country, Qatar. The artwork was reportedly sold by the owner due to a disagreement between him and the Kunstmuseum, where it was being display.The buyer's identity has not been disclosed nor has Qatar confirmed the purchase.
