The 8th International Gümüşlük Classical Music Festival which is held annually in Bodrum, kicks off this year on July 7th with a performance by the Izmir State Symphony Orchestra and Bodrum Castle.
The festival, with pianist Eren Levendoğlu as music director, pianist Gülsin Onay as art consultant and Mesut Pekergin's contributions, aims to reach out to a larger audience this year.
The Izmir State Symphony Orchestra, which is conducted by İbrahim Yazıcı, will be accompanied by Violoncellist Frank Wakelkamp for the festival's opening concert at the Bodrum Castle on July 7th. The festival closes on September 14th with a performance by the Escher Quartet.
English pianist Peter Katin, Bulgarian pianist Julian Gorus, Russian pianist İlya İtin, Serbian pianist Misha Dacic, Korean pianist Jackie Jaekyung Yoo, Pianist Gülsin Onay, Pianist Eren Levendoğlu and Pianist İbrahim Yazıcı will also be performing for the 8th International Gümüşlük Classical Music Festival.
Other guest performers scheduled to perform in the festival are German soprano Christine Wolff, soprano Burcu Uyar, cellist Ümit İşgörür, flutist Gülşen Tatu, percussionist Burhan Öcal and the Zeynep Tanbay Dance Group.
