Voted the best in the world, but it’s still closed!

The Turkish music library website fizy.com was the recipient of the Mashable Award, considered to be the ‘Oscars’ of technology. However, access to the website remains to be restricted. Website founder Ercan Yarış states, “Sooner or later, Fizy.com will be accessible again.”



Currently shut down by court order in response to a complaint issued by Turkey's Phonographic Industry Society or MÜ-YAP, fizy.com had been selected as the number one music search engine in the world, receiving a prestigious Mashable Award.Over one million votes rang in on the Mashable website for fizy.com, which was awarded on Thursday night in New York. Founded by three Turkish entrepreneurs, fizy.com quickly achieved international acclaim. Shut down on December 17th, 2010, access to fizy.com remains to be restricted. Fizy.com founder Ercan Yarış recently with MÜ-YAP to discuss their concerns and believes that most of the problems have been solved and the website should once again be up soon. The main concern in the complaint was the website's failure to pay royalties for music broadcasted. The fizy.com virtual music library had approximately 700,000 visitors a day when it was fully up and running.
