A group of Orthodox Jews, members of the anti-Zionist Neturei Karta International organization, celebrated the decision of the United Nation Security Council (UNSC) condemning Israel for building illegal settlements in Palestinian territories.
The anti-Zionist group of religious Jews gathered in front of the U.N. headquarters in New York to laud the decision.
The group expressed their happiness over the UNSC decision by holding placards reading ''True Jews celebrate UN condemnation of Israeli settlements'', ''Judaism rejects Zionism,'' or ''Israel has no right to rule over any part of the Holy Land.''
Later on, the group read a statement saying that the new illegal Israeli settlements are one of the main reasons for the persistence of bloodshed in the region.
The release also congratulated the decision as a leap towards peace, and a contribution to stop the sufferings of the Palestinians.
The statement also added that the U.N. condemnation of Israel is not only in tune with international laws, but also in line with the Jewish law, also reiterating that Israeli State and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu do not represent the global Jewish community.
Neturei Karta International brings together Orthodox Jews who believe that the Zionist cause of creating an Israeli state in the Middle East contradicts Jewish religious teachings, noting that such a state can only be created by the Messiah.
The members of the group are known to openly protest Israel, and support Palestinian groups through protests and events.
