The secret soiree hosted by U.S. president Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House on Saturday was revealed thanks to the guest celebrities' social media posts.
According to U.S. media, among the 500 guests there were NBA stars, top CEO's and many A-listers attending the White House event on Saturday evening.
The party in which Prince and Stevie Wonder performed live was not on Obama's weekly agenda and no press members were invited.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest confirmed that the U.S. president and First Lady held a party for their friends and family and added that all expenses were covered by the president himself.
Celebrities like Seattle Seahawks player Russell Wilson and his singer girlfriend Ciara shared photos of their party outfits and let the cat out of the bag with their photos captioned with "Dancing at the @WhiteHouse" and "Thanks Mr. President and First Lady" on Instagram and Twitter.
"One of the best house parties I've ever been to. Hands down." noted director Ava Du Vernay under a fun but blurry photo she shared from the night.
