Turkey and Cameroon held bilateral talks on economic cooperation and investment opportunities with officials from both countries at ministerial level on Friday in Ankara.Nihat Zeybekçi, the Economy Minister of Turkey said that Turkey has conducted projects in the region worth $224 million so far but that there are many more opportunities to be explored for further cooperation and investments."We believe Turkey and Cameroon can do much more business and we can offer very different formulas to create trade, especially in infrastructure, transportation and in the housing sectors," Zeybekçi said.Zeybekçi urged for the stalled "Agreement for encouragement and protection of mutual investments," which was agreed by both parties, to be speeded up and put into force as soon as possible. The agreement was signed in 2012 but failed to fully take effect.Secretary-General of the Office of the Prime Minister of Cameroon Louis-Paul Motaze focused on the agriculture, housing as well as infrastructure as important sectors for mutual cooperation, adding that Turkey's help in the processing of Cameroon's agricultural products would be welcome.
