At least 11 Daesh terrorists were killed Saturday in a northern Syria operation by the Turkish army, the military said.
According to a Turkish General Staff statement released on Sunday, 21 Daesh targets in northern Syria, including two weapon emplacements and two vehicles, were destroyed in the operation.
The targets, which were destroyed by Turkish army howitzers, had been armed to launch missiles at Turkey, the military added.
Separately, Turkish army jets destroyed four PKK targets early Sunday in the Avasin-Basyan region of northern Iraq, the General Staff said.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015. Since then, nearly 600 security personnel have been martyred and more than 7,700 PKK terrorists neutralized.
