Turkish warplanes hit PKK targets in Turkey's southeastern Lice district as well as Gara region of Northern Iraq in airstrikes conducted on June 4, in which 13 terrorists were killed, military sources said on Saturday.
They said the terrorists were spotted by drones in Diyarbakır's Lice district.
Rural areas in the Lice district are believed to be the last remaining PKK strongholds inside Turkish territory.
Recent media reports have suggested that the car bombings carried out this week in Istanbul's Beyazıt district and Midyat district of southeastern Mardin province were both planned and executed by PKK terrorists located in Lice.
The attacks targeting a riot police bus and a police department killed a total of 17 people, including civilians, while injuring dozens.
