Certain roads in Istanbul will be closed on April 24 due to the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey and the Vodafone Half Marathon. The 52nd Presidential Cycling Tour will begin at 11:40 a.m. at Beşiktaş pier and is expected to finish at 3 p.m. at the historical Hippodrome in Sultanahmet.
Barbaros Boulevard in Beşiktaş, a lane on the Bosporus Bridge, the Beykoz coastline, the road in front of Beykoz Municipality, Akbaba village, Beykoz Woods, the Poyrazköy Road, Ragıp Gümüşpala Avenue, Atatürk Avenue, Bozdoğan Aqueduct route, Çatladıkapı Road, Küçük Ayasofya Avenue and the Hippodrome in Sultanahmet will be closed between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The Vodaphone Half Marathon in Istanbul will launch in Yenikapı on the same day and finish at the same spot. Due to the half marathon, the route between Yenikapı and Eyüp will be closed. Professional athletes will start the marathon at 9 a.m. and amateur athletes will start at 9:30 a.m. The half marathon is expected to finish at 11 a.m. and the awards ceremony will take place at 12 p.m.
