Turkish security forces on Tuesday detained 59 people in simultaneous operations conducted in four cities in the southern and southeastern provinces of Turkey, including Kilis, Mersin, Adana, and Şanlıurfa.
Security forces detained 21 people in the southeastern Şanlıurfa province. The suspects were being monitored for some time in a building located in the district of Eyyübiye.
Security forces in southeastern Kilis detained four with Daesh links, two of them minors, who have entered Turkey via illegal means.
The two possible militants have been arrested on grounds of "being a member of a terrorist organization" and the officials stated that minors would be given to their relatives.
Police in southern Mersin province detained nine suspects later on the same day in Tarsus, Anamur and Silifke districts. Three of the nine suspects were found guilty of terror charges and arrested.
In neighboring Adana, nine suspects, five of them foreigners, have been captured by security forces.
Security forces detected that the suspects were carrying out organizational meetings in their hideout, hosting new recruits waiting to join Daesh in Syria, collecting money and getting prepared to carry out attacks inside Turkey with equipment brought from Daesh-stronghold Raqqa.
A simultaneous operation was launched in 22 different addresses to capture the suspects and evidences.
