A Turkish court in Istanbul released the former gendarmerie commander İbrahim Aydın in MİT trucks raid case.
Major General Aydın was arrested as part of the probe launched against judiciary and security officials who took part in the operation carried out against trucks belonging to Turkey's National Intelligence Organization (MİT) in January 2014. Aydın was serving as the Ankara gendarmerie commander at the time.
Aydın was released on condition with a ban on leaving the country.
The officials who took part in the raid are being accused of leaking state secrets, hampering state officials to carry out their duties and being part of the Gülenist Terror Organization (FETÖ), which is accused of infiltrating into state institutions and carrying out illegal wiretapping and monitoring activities to topple the government.
