A German parliamentary delegation of six members will visit German soldiers stationed at Turkey's Incirlik Air Base on Wednesday following months-long negotiations between the officials of the two countries.
Diplomatic sources speaking to Ihlas News Agency said that the delegation made up from the members of the Defense Commission of the German parliament will first arrive in Ankara and hold talks with Turkish officials from the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The delegation will then move to the air base to visit German soldiers and will also hold talks with Turkish and American military officials.
Turkish officials had blocked German political delegations from visiting Incirlik Air Base in response to the parliamentary resolution passed in Berlin in May that declared the 1915 events as genocide.
On Aug. 29, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that Turkey would authorize German parliamentarians to visit the air base; however, he reiterated that Germany would need to take the necessary steps.
