Lexus, which is produced by Toyota and is one of the leading brands of luxury automobiles, will enter the Turkish market as of the fourth quarter of 2015.
Since it was first manufactured in 1989, Lexus has been one of the most luxurious automobiles in the world and will soon be offered to Turkish consumers. The CEP of Toyota Türkiye Pazarlama ve Satış A.Ş., Ali Haydar Bozkurt, on starting the sales of Lexus in Turkey said that the negotiations had been taking place for some time as there is a serious demand in Turkey. He also said that Lexus cars are a symbol of prestige in countries they are sold in and a brand that has proven its name in the premium automobile market. Bozkurt said that their target is to make Lexus a brand sells in the thousands in the first five years and sales will start in six to seven locations within the next year. "We will strive to make Lexus a permanent brand in Turkey. Within the next five to 10 years, the range of Lexus product will also expand. We plan to offer Lexus cars to customs for between 80,000 euros and 300,000 euros ($90,000 to $337,000). He also underlined that 26 percent of the cars sold by Lexus around the world in 2014 were hybrids and any kind of grant and incentive provided for manufacturing hybrid automobiles in Turkey will also positively affect the sale of hybrid Lexus automobiles.
